Christine Sagan, APRN, is a family nurse practitioner in private practice since 2007. It has been her dream to open her own clinic, and Vitae Integrative Medical Center is a reflection of her vision and values. She is thoroughly excited to offer a fresh place for healing.

Christine specializes in treating the entire family, with special expertise on women’s health, hormone treatment (for men and women), nutritional counseling, weight loss, thyroid disorders, endocrine imbalances, chronic disease management, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, diabetes, IBS, SIBO, GI disorders, adrenal imbalance, fatigue, allergies and pediatrics.

Along with the management of long-term medical conditions, she performs annual preventative exams for adults, plus wellness and sports physicals for children. Christine is enthusiastic about her work and has a positive, hopeful outlook for each client. She especially emphasizes the holistic aspect of health care and enjoys partnering with her patients.

Education

Christine earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing from the University of Alaska Anchorage, gaining induction to the Sigma Theta Tau honors society in 2007. She is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, Institute of Functional Medicine and the Alaska Nurse Practitioners Association.

A strong believer in the value of constant growth, Christine regularly attends continuing education conferences in Alaska and the Lower 48, where she keeps up with the latest research in healthcare. She has also been a regular lecturer at the annual ANPA conference in Anchorage, where she has discussed topics including testosterone replacement for men and women and irritable bowel syndrome.

Leigh Keefer, DNP

Leigh Keefer joined the team at Vitae Integrative Medical Center in spring 2017. She has been a Nurse Practitioner since 2011 and has experience in acute and chronic conditions. She earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in 2016, with a special interest in rheumatology and autoimmune disease.

A Matanuska Valley native, Leigh grew up on an organic farm, experiencing a subsistence lifestyle with a deep appreciation for effective, cost-containing, drug-free interventions that optimize health and well-being. Her holistic, evidence-based philosophy incorporates both integrative and conventional medicine practices to reach each patient’s individualized health goals.

Dr. Natalie Wiggins is a licensed Naturopathic Physician and graduate of Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine. Dr. Wiggins is dedicated to her patients and supports them throughout their journey of optimizing health, using modalities unique to Naturopathic Medicine. Alisa Vickrey, PA-C (she/they)

Alisa Vickrey, PA-C (she/they) began practicing family medicine in 2015 at the Alaska Family Medicine Residency with a focus in community medicine, for which she received teaching awards for her approaches to community medicine with medical residents and students.  After experiences working in rural Alaska, she began her own healing journey with cancer, which led to the completion of an Integrative Medicine fellowship with the Academy of Integrative Health and Medicine. Alisa’s training in medicine is grounded in evidence-based medicine with a psycho-spiritual and holistic approach. In her practice, she recognizes the pathos of the majority of common chronic disease as a result of chronic inflammation. She also understands the role of lifestyle, the environment and the gut microbiome play as a keys to our health. In addition to acute and chronic disease management, she is a trauma informed and LGTBQ+ informed healthcare provider available to manage mental health; including medication management, and supervision of medication weaning.

Alisa is also a certified Level 2 Reiki practitioner, and certified yoga instructor (200 hour). She has research interests in mind body medicine including yoga, meditation, psychoneuroimmunology, plant medicines, sound healing, neuro-feedback and bio-field sciences.
